Parents must apply for a 3K, Pre-K or Kindergarten seat through the MySchools portal on the DOE website.

Students are permitted to bring cell phones, smart watches, and portable music / entertainment systems – such as an iPod, PSP, Nintendo Switch, etc – however these items may not be turned on or used during the school day or while on school property by students. This includes early breakfast/recess at 7:45am. All items should be kept in a student’s backpack for the duration of the school day.

If a student is found using such electronic items during the school day, staff will take the item for safekeeping until it can be returned to a parent/guardian after school. If the child takes the bus or attends an after-school program, parents/guardians will be notified of its use, and it will then be sent home with the child in their backpack.

Should this occur more than once in a school year, that child will be asked to turn in their devices to a staff member at the start of the school day to ensure it is not used during the school day.

The New York City Department of Education offers free breakfast, lunch and afterschool meals to all NYC public school students during the school year.

The ASD Nest program is a specialized program that serves some students with autism. The program is a partnership between the DOE and New York University’s (NYU) ASD Nest Support Project. Each program works to strengthen academic and social skills in an inclusion setting.
